Synopsis: Winner of the Variety Piazza Grande Award at the 2015 Locarno Film Festival, Summertime is a beautiful and heartbreaking love story set in late 1970s France. Delphine (Izia Higelin) flees her family farm for Paris after the girl she loves breaks her heart. By chance, she meets Carole (Cecile De France The Kid with the Bike) , a spirited women’s liberation activist. The two form a fast friendship that only deepens when Carole follows Delphine to the country after her father’s tragic stroke. The traditional values of the country contrast with their growing affection, and Delphine is caught between her love, her family, and the bucolic countryside where her sweeping passions grow wild.
