Filmmakers - Gay Youth Media project
The Gay Youth Media Project is a program for queer youth (aged 13-19) designed to teach them all aspects of film and video production while providing a forum for discussion and exploration of gay culture, history and politics. The course takes place over a three month period, one month of classes and two months of production.
Through generous donations and fundraising activities aGLIFF was able to purchase equipment for exclusive use by the GYM Project. In addition, members of the community give their time to come and talk with the youth about different aspects of production and facilitate discussion on queer and gender issues.
Previous GYM Projects have screened at film festivals around the country.
